We’re delighted to share that our End-of-Life Care Training video series is now live and free to watch on YouTube! Talking about death is something many of us are taught to avoid. It can feel uncomfortable, frightening, or overwhelming – especially when it’s part of your work. But for carers supporting people at the end of life, avoiding the conversation doesn’t make it easier. Knowledge, compassion, and confidence do.
This six-part series was created together with The Art of Living & Dying Well as well as with Dr. Julia Verne to support care workers with the knowledge, confidence, and compassion needed to care for people at the end of life – one of the most meaningful and emotionally demanding parts of care work.
At the heart of this training is a simple but powerful truth in the words of Dame Cicely Saunders, the founder of the modern hospice movement:
Every individual is a person who matters – right up to the last moment of their life.
This training gently lifts the veil around end-of-life care. It offers honest guidance on what to expect, how to respond, and how to stay present – so that moments which might otherwise feel heavy or uncertain can instead be calm, dignified, and deeply human. When care workers feel supported and prepared, they are better able to bring reassurance and peace to the people in their care during life’s final stages.
These sessions don’t shy away from difficult topics, but they approach them with warmth, respect, and practicality. By sharing real experiences and clear advice, the training helps replace fear and anxiety with understanding. It equips you with tools not only to care for others, but also to care for yourself – emotionally and professionally – as you do this meaningful work.
End-of-life care is about presence, dignity, and humanity. These trainings are here to support you in holding all three, with confidence and compassion.

This Series Was Made Possible By All Our Amazing Partners

This End-of-Life Care Training series was created in close collaboration with Art of Living & Dying Well, a centre based at St Mary’s University, London, whose work continues to shape compassionate, person-centred approaches to dying, death and care.
The series is led by Dr Julia Verne, whose depth of knowledge and calm, human approach guide each conversation with clarity and care. We are deeply grateful to the care workers who shared their lived experience and wisdom so openly – Bolanle Oyelami, Olufunke Nkeki, Motunrayo Ogungbemi, and Ajibola Ajumobi – each bringing honesty, compassion, and practical insight drawn from real work in end-of-life care.
Our sincere thanks also go to Álvaro García, whose sensitive videography helped capture these conversations with dignity and respect.
This project was made possible through the generosity of an anonymous donor, whose support ensured the training could be offered freely and openly to care workers everywhere.
Watch, Share, and Support Care Workers 💙
We hope this series becomes a practical resource and a moment of reflection for care workers everywhere – a reminder that their work matters, their wellbeing matters, and that compassion can coexist with professionalism.
Please watch, share, and pass these videos on to colleagues, teams, and organisations who may benefit!
