Last summer, Tresacare was proud to be selected for the Open London Accelerator Programme! Over three months, we joined a brilliant group of socially driven SMEs and startups working to tackle some of London’s biggest challenges in health, social care, and community wellbeing.
Every Wednesday morning, we gathered in-person to take part in insightful workshops, 1:1 mentoring sessions, and practical exercises designed to strengthen our business model, sharpen our value proposition, and build powerful partnerships. It was a hugely valuable experience – especially being in the same room with some incredible founders, including teams running million-pound ventures.
The programme was created by Newable in partnership with the Greater London Authority, as part of a UK Government initiative funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The aim? To help London-based enterprises like ours scale meaningful solutions to real-life problems—whether in care, transport, housing, energy, or the environment—and forge relationships with councils and other stakeholders.
Tresacare was honoured to pitch our work at the end of the accelerator and we’re delighted to share that we were awarded one of the Open London grants! This £2.5K grant is helping us move forward with exciting new developments, including a mobile app designed to make our training and wellbeing support more accessible to care workers across the UK.
We’re especially proud that during the programme, we also secured a new client partnership with a council-owned care organisation, aligning with the accelerator’s goal to create real, local impact through collaboration.
A huge thank you to our brilliant mentor Lucan Richards, whose guidance has helped shape our next steps, and to the Open London team – Abrar Jawaid, Raj Tandon, Temi Koleowo, and the whole innovation adviser crew – for believing in our mission and providing such a supportive, energising space to grow.
And of course, we’re grateful for the connections we made with other innovators like Elizabeth Eyitayo and more – we’re excited to keep learning, partnering, and pushing forward together.
What’s next? We’re continuing to build and test our mobile platform, grow our community of care workers, and ensure our support is scalable, inclusive, and ready to meet the evolving needs of the care sector.
Thank you Open London for investing in socially innovative startups like ours. Here’s to a more resilient, connected, and empowered care workforce!
